HUMAN PERFORMANCE IN COMPLEX HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS
Ren Think is grounded in human factors and safety science, and informed by experience of real work in complex, high-stakes healthcare.
We combine this expertise with applied facilitation, and coaching to strengthen how people and systems function together.
Our work is deliberately connected:
SYSTEM DESIGN & CONDITIONS SHAPE THINKING
THINKING SHAPES INTERACTION
INTERACTION SHAPES PERFORMANCE
Human Factors & Ergonomics:
Understanding and redesigning the systems people work within.
Moving beyond behaviour to the conditions that shape it.
Facilitation & Applied Learning:
Creating environments where people can think, reflect, and adapt in real time.
Not didactic. Not performative. Grounded in real work.
Coaching
Providing a 1:1 confidential space to support career and personal development, navigating workplace demands and consequences of safety events, and leadership coaching in complex systems.

into trust, insight, and adaptive performance.

INTERACTIONS of humans within an environment, with systems and processes, tools and technology.

INTERACTIONS of humans with each other, whether in stable, established teams or coming together for a specific task or project teams working towards a particular outcome.

Using skilled questioning and active listening to help you think more clearly, gain new perspectives, and find your own answers in your work, your life, and the INTERACTIONS shaping both.

Delegate - Thinking on the Frontline

Leadership: The Unseen Complexity -
Human dynamics for adaptive NHS leadership.
A four-session online leadership development programme for senior doctors and dentists.
It applies human factors and ergonomics, the discipline clinicians already know from patient safety, to the human dynamics of clinical leadership: cognitive load, psychological safety, organisational drift, and the small, repeatable behaviours that determine whether teams adapt under pressure or fragment under it.
Twelve weeks, not one day:
Behaviour change in complex environments doesn't happen in a single workshop.
The structure exists so practices have time to take hold between sessions, not just inside them.

This immersive one-day face-to-face workshop explores how clinicians and teams actually think and perform under pressure.
Moving beyond checklists and idealised models, it focuses on the real conditions of frontline work: uncertainty, time pressure, interruptions, and shifting priorities.
Drawing on human factors, safety science, and complexity thinking, the session sharpens awareness of how decisions are made in the moment, how interactions shape outcomes, and how system conditions influence performance.
Participants leave with practical ways to support clearer thinking, strengthen team interactions, and navigate complexity more effectively, especially when it matters most.

We provide targeted support for service development and learning after incidents in healthcare.
Clinical performance is shaped by the
relationship between the demands placed on the system and its capacity to absorb them.
Our approach focuses on understanding how system conditions, interactions, and pressures shape performance.
We work with teams, not to deliver conclusions but, a working relationship to understand, refine and co-design realistic workflow modifications to fit the realities of an operational environment.

It's wonderful bringing these ideas to life for small groups and large audiences alike.

Coaching is a powerful, forward-focused conversation. Unlike mentoring or consulting, a coach does not give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead, your coach will use skilled questioning and active listening to help you think more clearly, gain new perspectives, and find your own answers.
You are the expert on your own life. Our role is to create the space for you to think - and to help you move from where you are to where you want to be.
All coaches working with Ren Think Ltd are qualified with a Diploma in Transformational Coaching.
